Instagram is known for the way it uses colours to indicate different things – whether it be the green circle of a Close Friends list story update, or the colourful borders which surround profiles are different times of the year and on different dates of note.

If you are scrolling through your ‘Following’ list, or head to the profile of a friend and see that the ‘Following’ is set on a green button, then this means you’ve added them to your Close Friends list.

You can check out your full list, or adjust the members on your list, by following these 3 steps…

3 Steps To Check Your Close Friends List

  1. Head to your profile page then click on the menu button in the top right hand corner
  2. Click on ‘Close Friends’ towards the bottom of the list
  3. Here you will see which friends are a part of your Close Friends list, and can add more or remove friends as you see fit

The benefits of a Close Friends list include being able to send those users specific pieces of content and exclusive updates when you want to. What’s more, your friends are not notified when they are added to, or removed from, a Close Friends list – enabling you to adapt and adjust it as regularly as you would like!
