A moderator on a Facebook group is one step down from a group admin – able to monitor content, delete inappropriate comments, block members, and approve (or deny) requests from new members who want to join the group.

Difference Between Group Moderator and Facebook Hq Moderator

Their job is to look at and assess all reports that are received from Facebook users, relating to specific posts from users or reports against profiles. If they find a user to be violating any terms and conditions of Facebook or find that their posts and/or interactions have broken community guidelines, then they have the power to suspend accounts and take other action against the culprit.
