Libs of TikTok is the handle and username of an increasingly problematic series of accounts on TikTok, which are known for posting derogatory content and hate speech against those in the LGBTQ+ and other communities.

It was founded by – and remains operated by – a former estate agent called Chaya Raichak – and now stretches across multiple accounts which all use the same ‘Libs of TikTok’ handle.

Marketing itself as a far-right movement, the Libs of TikTok uprising stands against conversations in support of LGBTQ+ and transgender conversations and will often repost content created by left-wing TikTok users with its own mocking and hostile commentary.

The Libs of TikTok have received multiple suspensions and bans across TikTok, though the expanse of different accounts makes it difficult to monitor.

What Have the Libs of TikTok Done?

Aside from the underlying hate speech and derogatory content which openly mocks those living different lifestyles, the Libs of TikTok have encouraged and been responsible for the harassment of multiple professionals across various industries.

These include doctors, teachers, children’s hospitals, educational facilities, and safe spaces for those in diverse communities specifically relating to gender and sexual orientation.

The Libs of TikTok directly targets those who support and speak out in favour of LGTQ+ and transgender communities.

It is believed that that Libs of TikTok content has influenced a number of US politicians and those in the far-right political camp. There are around three million followers across the collection of accounts as of early 2024, highlighting just how widespread this hate content is becoming.

TikTok has taken steps to try and stifle this openly aggressive content, though the movement remains at the forefront of right-wing conversations.
