There are countless phrases, terms, and acronyms linked with TikTok – some of which apply to everyday users, while others are geared towards slang speak, specific user groups, or certain demographics.

Stem is one of those words which is relatively new – and in a move apart from the many acronyms and shorthand phrases we cover in these articles, actually refers to a whole new feed which is taking over the app.

Stem, or the STEM feed, stands for ‘Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths’ and is a new section of the app which is dedicated to those looking for information or enhanced learning around these specific areas.

Keep reading for more advice on how to use the STEM feed and how to access it.

What Can You Find in the STEM Feed?

The STEM feed on TikTok is the place to be if you want tips on coding, or you want to learn more about smart investments, or you’re keen to engage in a little maths-based DIY at home and need some support.

Content tends to be a combination of inspiring and advice-based, and places emphasis on how the app can be used to optimise the visibility of educational content for those who want it.

Better yet, it seems as though all content in the STEM feed is actually passed through a fact checker which assesses the validity of the videos and the claims that each video makes. This helps users to ensure that the facts and information they are receiving through videos and content is genuine.

But how do you find it?

How to Access the STEM Feed

STEM content is in the early stages of release and so is not widely available – at present only accessible in some US states where the new content feed is being trialled.

However, the idea is that once the feed has been launched properly, it will be another option available from the homepage – which you can select in much the same way as you might browse ‘For You’ videos or ‘Following’ videos.

In the meantime, you may be able to find some STEM-related content by searching for the #STEM hashtag or other specific terms which fall into this category.

We hope this helps! Are you a science or maths lover keen to start browsing, unlocking, and accessing STEM content? Do you already have access to this content? Let us know!
