Have you ever shared a post on your Facebook profile, only to decide at a later date that you want to remove it?
There are two different ways of removing a post from your Facebook profile.
The first is by sending posts to your Archive – a folder that only you as the account holder have access to, which hides posts from wider view but keeps them somewhere safe should you wish to reinstate them to your page in the future.
The second option is a little more permanent, sending posts to the Trash bin or Recycle bin – depending on the type of device that you are using. When you do this, posts can be reinstated and readded to your profile within 30 days of sending them to the bin but will be permanently deleted after the 30 day period is complete.
If you change your mind about a deleted post, or you’re interested in seeing which posts you have sent to your trash within the last 30 days, then you’ve come to the right place. Here are the steps you need to take to view your trash and deleted posts…
4 Steps to View Your Trash and Deleted Posts on Facebook
- Click on the menu button in the bottom right hand corner of your Facebook page
- Select ‘Settings and Privacy’ then ‘Settings’
- From the menu, click on ‘Activity Log’
- Within the carousel of different folders in your ‘Activity Log’, select the icon labelled ‘Trash’ or ‘Recycling Bin’ depending on whether you are using an iPhone or Android phone
Once inside the trash folder in your Activity Log, you can see which posts you have deleted and restore any back to your profile. Any posts that were deleted more than 30 days previously will not be visible as they will have already been fully deleted from your page.
And there you have it! A quick and easy way to see which posts you have deleted on Facebook, restore those you want to save back to your profile, and leave those that you are happy to lose after 30 days.
