TikTok drafts are generally videos and posts that you have started to compile and edit but haven’t yet had time to post.
There are many reasons why creators choose to access the drafts feature and save their content for later, either because they ran out of time to finesse their footage or because they are saving the content for a specific time or occasion.
Whatever the reason, the benefit of using TikTok drafts is that you can control when your content is shared – and can make as many adjustments to that content as you like before posting.
So how do you use the tool – and more specifically, how do you continue filming and recording once a draft has been saved?
Adding New Footage to an Existing Draft
One of the great things about TikTok – and one of the reasons why it is so popular with creators – is the plethora of editing features and tools and available.
When you save a draft video, these editing tools let you continue adding more footage and effects to a piece of content until you are happy with it – using various transition techniques to ensure a seamless flow of video.
Here’s how to add more footage and continue recording a draft…
- Open a draft video or piece of content that you have been working on, then select the ‘Edit’ icon at the top of the menu running down the right hand side of the screen
- Select the plus sign which will be atop the video scroll, to add new video clips. You can overlay these clips together or set them to run into each other with an added transition screen for a professional finish
- You can do this as many times as you would like, adding to and cutting down your videos in drafts until you are ready to post
And voila! The end result will be a video that contains different clips filmed on different occasions, edited together to create a seamless finish.
