With TikTok heavily geared towards the creation of videos and flowing content, sometimes uploading a series of pictures and photos can feel a bit like presenting a slideshow.
While there are various transition options that allow you to tailor and finesse the move from one picture to the next, finding ways of improving the presentation of images so that it doesn’t feel like a slideshow is a priority for many creators.
Which is where today’s article comes in.
Using the Green Screen Feature to Add Pictures to a Video
The first and arguably the easiest way of adding photos without all the transition effects and long pauses is to create a video from your images using the green screen feature.
This feature was originally designed to enable creators to select a photo that acts as the background for their footage – with this hack using the same technology but without placing a figure over the top of the background image. Essentially, the photo or picture that you choose as a “background” becomes the hero of each video shot.
- Navigate to the TikTok video creation screen and tap ‘Effects’ which is located to the left of the capture button
- Scroll across the menu of options until you find ‘Green Screen’
- Select the green square box with the classic photo icon inside it
- Choose the photo that you want to display as the first image in your TikTok video, and then press and hold the capture button to record as many seconds of video as you want
NOTE: Angle the phone away from your face to ensure that you are not in shot and that it is only the photo or image that fills the screen
- Once you’re happy with the first image, click on ‘Edit’ at the top of the dropdown list of icons
- Click on the plus sign at the end of the first clip and then add the next image
- Keep doing this until you are happy with the order and duration of each image in your video, with options to add a transition or simply have one image replaced with the next during each new frame of your video
Once you’re happy with the full run of your TikTok, you can add text and other details and finally post it with the perfect caption – adding context to the pictures and an opportunity for followers to engage and share your post!
