If you are browsing and using TikTok with a lack of internet connection, then the chances are that any interaction you send will not successfully be received. Similarly, if TikTok is experiencing a glitch in the system, you may find yourself unable to leave comments for a period of time.
The User Has Blocked Specific Words
One of the great things about TikTok is the level of control it grants to users over their own experience. For creators, the ability to block and filter out specific words and terms in follower comments means that some comments left will never be visible.
If you are trying to leave a comment that mentions one of these terms that has been locked via comment restrictions, you will be unable to see the comment on the post.
The User Has Blocked You From Commenting
Similarly, comment restrictions enable users to block other users from being able to comment on their videos.
TikTok’s Community Guidelines Have Flagged an Issue
If you try to leave a comment that violates TikTok’s community guidelines, then this too will be blocked – sometimes even before it can be posted.
This is informed by TikTok’s ever-growing algorithm which is able to pair comments with words that have previously been flagged and reported as violating regulatory conditions.
Suffice to say, there are several reasons why TikTok may not allow you to comment or may not showcase your comment underneath a video. While technical issues can sometimes be the cause, it is just as likely to be something to do with the comment you are trying to leave, or your relationship with the original creator.
