Following the news that Instagram is rolling out long-form content trials to boost engagement and encourage users to spend more time on the app, reports indicate that the platform has taken the introduction of longer videos further.

The Financial Value of Long Form Content

While longer videos provide creators with valuable opportunity to engage and connect with users, it seems as if Instagram is putting its own spin on the value of long videos – with a financial reward. Creators are supposedly being offered up to $500,000 to create and post long-form videos, with the highest rewards going to those who can influence the posting behaviour of countless other creators.

The biggest sums may be reserved for Instagram’s most prolific stars and influencers, but that doesn’t mean that smaller scale creators can’t benefit too. Depending on the reach of their profile, other creators may well receive financial reward for tapping into the new content format and demonstrating its value to users.

How much would Instagram have to offer you, before you would consider sharing longer videos and vlog-style content?
