Instagram Trials a Feature to Let You Know How Each Image on a Carousel Post Performs

Instagram’s latest trial feature is an interesting one, especially for users who like to compact multiple updates into a single carousel post.

The update will allow users to see how many likes each individual frame without a carousel post earns – by presenting data based on when they pressed the like button during their scrolling session.

This BTS feature will attribute the overall number of likes, based on where in the carousel they were expressed – so that users are able to determine which specific frames performed best and were considered the most engaging.

How Individual Frame Data Will Help

While this will not change the way the post as a whole performs, what it will do is let the creator or user know exactly which frames performed best – providing invaluable data about what their audience wants to see.

For creators who buy followers as part of their growth strategy, it can highlight which specific posts and images are popular with that particular audience. For businesses sharing multiple products as part of a carousel post, it can indicate which are achieving the highest levels of engagement.

It could change the way users build and construct their posts, transform the order in which they post different frames, or trigger an entire overhaul in their strategy! The opportunities with this kind of insight are endless.

Do you use carousels in your posting plan – and would it benefit you to know which individual frames are the most popular?
