2024 marked a shift in the UK market, as an increasing number of consumers turn to TikTok for shopping as well as engagement and entertainment.
Reports state that 2024 saw an increase in revenue of 38%, making the market worth $64 billion – with much of this driven by the incredible popularity of TikTok beauty brands and shoppable streams.
Could the UK Threaten a Cease in TikTok Use?
With the United States currently in the midst of its hunt for a US TikTok buyer, users are wondering if the UK could see the same threat to platform users. While UK regulatory officials are keeping an eye on the platform and its potential threat to national security under Chinese ownership, no formal move has been made to cease operations.
The UK government launched its own TikTok channel back in February 2025 (we wonder if they earn organic interactions or choose to buy likes and comments?), with around 1.5 million UK businesses known to use the app for engagement and growth.
