TikTok Owners Refuses to Sell Algorithm to the US

With the clock ticking on the TikTok deal, and the United States still showing no signs of being able to purchase the app and bring its ownership onto US soil, TikTok users have been hit with another blow. This time in the form of a reinstation from Chinese officials, that they have no intention of selling the app algorithm to the United States.

This has further been exacerbated by the appearance of a White House official TikTok account, launched earlier this week, that Chinese officials say contradicts the very threat that the US is concerned about. With the TikTok ban supposedly stemming from a lack of security for users in the United States, the fact that the White House has launched its own app is contradictory to the message it is putting out.

The result of this latest development, for TikTok users specifically, remains in the balance.

What Happens Next?

The countdown on finding a US buyer for the TikTok platform, currently owned by ByteDance in China, is drawing ever closer to its end.

With Chinese officials claiming that they will not sell the algorithm to the United States, the idea that the US can create its own version of the app looks to be uncertain.

We will continue to monitor and report on this – but meanwhile, keep growing your TikTok profile and continue guiding both organic followers and those earned through online packages towards your other channels and platforms.
