TikTok has responded to recent claims that it is creating its own branch of the app, stating that the information is ‘factually incorrect’.

The news was initially noted as a way of bypassing the pending ban on TikTok across the United States, unless the app finds a US-based buyer. It would essentially mean that TikTok remains accessible via a new format and under new ownership in the United States, under its own unique algorithm.

For those who rely on the platform for profile growth and visibility, this news was heralded – protecting their rise in views and followers, and the income that comes with successful leverage of a social audience.

However TikTok itself has hit back and published a three-line statement that says the news is not correct.

What do WE Think is Happening With TikTok?

While TikTok has called the claims of its new development incorrect, it has not completely denied the pending release. So, we don’t really know what’s true and what’s not!

Without the creation of a new version of TikTok, users who rely on and enjoy using TikTok are on a deadline – and must hope that the app finds a buyer sooner rather than later.
