TikTok ‘Now’ works in much the same way as BeReal, in that it invites users to capture an image using both the front and back camera of their device, showcasing where they are and what they are doing in a single moment of each day.

These ‘Now’ posts offer a natural and unposed insight to the user or creators day – however, it has proven to be controversial across the TikTok sphere and has been discontinued to all new users.

Instead, TikTok is focussing on newer, fresher ideas – but what about the ‘Now’ memories of users who were previously using the tool and sharing quick and unposed insights with their followers?

In this blog, we’re sharing how to find ‘Now’ memories and how to delete them, leaving your own account and profile clean and ready for new effects and features.

How to Find TikTok ‘now’ Memories

‘Now’ memories are private posts that only you can find on your profile.

To find them, you need to head to your profile page and then navigate to the Private Posts tab above your grid. From here, you can head to ‘Now’ memories – saving your favourites and deleting those that you don’t want to keep.

The benefit of saving your favourite ‘Now’ memories and moments is that those little snapshots into your day can be kept and transformed into a compilation video if and when you choose to. It’s a good way to see what you were doing and when, and to keep in touch with the little moments from each day. But not all ‘Now’ memories are suitable for saving.

3 Steps to Delete ‘now’ Memories

  1. Head to your profile and click on ‘Friends’. Then click on the ‘Now’ tab and the calendar to open your full calendar of ‘Now’ posts
  2. In your calendar, any day that has a posted ‘Now’ memory will be highlighted. You can slide through these posts and the dates
  3. Select a ‘Now’ that you want to delete, and click on the ‘Delete’ icon

NOTE: Following all three steps will also take you to an option to save and download your ‘Now’ memories to your device. This is a good way to keep those memories and moments safe on your device, if and when TikTok deletes all the tools and features that connect with its ‘Now’ effect.

We hope this helps!
