A relatively new feature that users are enjoying across Facebook is the ability to add music to their posts and updates.

Not only does adding music create some context within the post but it also sets the tone of the post and adds emotion. All of this serves to enhance the content and give users even more control over how their updates, photos, and announcements are received.

Suffice to say, adding music has become an increasingly popular way to personalise and improve the way a Facebook post is viewed and enjoyed. But how easy is it to add music to a post?

3 Steps to Add Music to Your Post

  1. From your Facebook newsfeed or profile page, tap on the ‘What’s On Your Mind’ box to start a new post
  2. Scroll down the menu of features and add-ons until you find ‘Music’. Click on it
  3. A list of popular and recommended songs will appear, based on the kind of content that you interact with and favour on Facebook. You can choose one of these audio clips, or search for something different using the search bar at the top of the list – using the small play icon next to each song to hear the available clip

Once you find a song that you want to add to your Facebook post, click on it and it will open in your post. You can then add other media including photos and videos, as well as typing out a caption to pull the whole post together.

When you share your post, users will be able to see that there is a song attached to the post and can turn up the volume on their device to hear the music – or simply read the caption and view the imagery without the audio clip.

Tips on Choosing the Right Music for Your Post

When choosing a song to compliment your post, consider the tone and mood of the update alongside the song.

Opting for an acoustic version of a song is a good way to create a more relaxed vibe regardless of the song, whereas something upbeat will draw attention to your post and make it come alive.

We hope this helps you to not only enhance but also personalise your Facebook posts even more than normal. Happy posting!
