There are countless ways that your Facebook experience can be negatively impacted, from lost signal to a bug or issue with a specific action you are trying to take on the platform.
Whatever the issue is, one of the major benefits of Facebook is its plethora of support options for users. The challenge comes in knowing which of the many Facebook support outlets to use in the face of your specific problem.
Understanding the Facebook Report Feature
If the problem you come across has to do with something that another user has posted, or you stumble across an account that is impersonating you or someone you know, then you need to report it.
To do this, simply click on the three dots icon along the top of the post and select ‘Report Post’ from the pop up menu.
To report an account or profile, head directly to their profile page and again select the three dots icon which will likely be positioned at the top of their page, under their cover photo. Select ‘Report Profile’ to highlight an issue with their profile and send it through for Facebook moderation.
You can keep track of reports that you have made, and their status, by heading to the ‘Help and Support’ menu on Facebook and selecting ‘Support Inbox’. This is where ant reports you’ve made are listed, and where you will alerts relating to issues you are experiencing.
Understanding Facebook’s Help & Support Menu
If you head to your Facebook menu page, you will see an option that reads ‘Help and Support’.
Clicking on this will take you to another menu, dedicated to helping users overcome a wide variety of issues on the app.
The Help Centre is where you will find answers to countless FAQs and problems that other users have faced and reported. This is often a good first port of call for any issue.
Alternatively, you can select ‘Report a Problem’ to find out more about how best to report a specific issue during your time on the Facebook platform. A relatively new feature invites users to shake their phone when they encounter or come across a problem, making it easy for Facebook administrators to find the issue and fix it.
This process does much the same as the ‘Report’ button but is more accessible and easier for most users to access and activate.
Other Ways of Contacting Facebook for Help
The Help and Support menu is typically the easiest and most efficient way to get help from Facebook relating to a problem or issue.
However, there are other contact methods that you can try, including helplines and help forms.
These tend to relate to more specific issues that you are facing, and do not always result in quick responses – which is why they are not actively encouraged in the same way as the Help menu and the Report function.
All in all, Facebook makes it easy for users to overcome issues and problems by offering them a selection of ways to reach out to the platform for help. If you’ve found one method of contact more effective than another, we’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences!
