Are you aware of the @everyone feature on Facebook?
This feature is undoubtedly one of the best ways to get mass attention amongst all of the followers on your page, essentially tagging them all in a post without needing to individually search for and tag all of their names.
The @everyone feature works like a standard tag and will notify everyone who’s in the page community of the post that you’ve shared. But let’s be honest, if you’re on the receiving end of these on countless occasions, they could get very annoying.
As an admin member of a Facebook page, you have the power to turn off this feature – preventing users from sharing updates and constantly using the @everyone tag to increase visibility.
Here’s how to do it…
5 Steps to Turn off the Mass Tag Feature
- The first step is to establish page admin responsibilities and ensure that you have the power to turn off this feature. Click through to the page that you want to edit and check that you are an admin member on the page
- Head into the page Settings via the More button on your profile page
- Select ‘Notification Settings’
- Find the option that mentions @everyone or group mentions
- Disable this option so that users cannot tag all users in a single post
Trust us when we say your users and page followers will thank you for it!
