Running a Facebook page is a great way to connect large groups of users, driving them towards your content and encouraging them to interact and engage with what you put out there.
Whether you’re selling something, advertising a service, or creating a group to unite users with a common interest, the beauty of a Facebook page is that you can add admin members to help manage the group, access user insights and stats to track behaviour, and add budget to specific posts to increase their visibility.
But in order to unlock many of these benefits, you need to make sure that your page is connected as a business page. Which is where this article comes in…
3 Steps to Activate Your Page as a Business Page
If you want to turn a Facebook page into a business page, the first place to start is on a web browser. You cannot take the following steps on a smartphone or app version of Facebook – rather, it needs to be done from a web browser.
- Once you’re on Facebook.com and have logged into the account through which you manage your existing page, the first step is to head into your Facebook page and select ‘Edit Page’ from the top of the feed
- Click on ‘Basic Information’ on the left hand side of the Page Info, and find ‘Category’
- Under the Category dropdown menu, find the option for ‘Local Businesses’
This may seem like a very small, quick, and easy change, but the impact it has on the visibility and presentation of your Facebook page is huge.
When you create and start managing a business page rather than a more personal interest page on Facebook, you enable your brand to become amplified and recognised for all the right reasons. Not to mention you enjoy access to more tools, more digital marketing tricks and tactics, and more information relating to the reach of your page and its content.
We hope this helps!
