When you create a Facebook page, it becomes connected to your personal account. This allows you to access the page from an administrative perspective without having to log into a separate account, and also makes it easy for you to receive notifications from your page within your regular browsing activity.
Of course, if you choose to take a step back from your role as page manager, leave a job role that’s associated with that Facebook page, or simply want to remove the page from your account and leave it in the hands of someone else, you will need to unlink it.
Which is where this article comes in. Here are the 5 steps you need to follow to unlink a Facebook page from your personal account.
5 Steps to Unlink a Page From Your Account
- Make sure that you are logged into Facebook with the account that you have linked with the Facebook page
- Navigate to your Facebook page
- Click on the ‘Settings’ button in the corner of the page and navigate to ‘Page Roles’ within this settings menu
- Identify your personal account name and click ‘Remove’ from the page roles list
- Make sure that, before you confirm the removal of your link with the page, you have assigned other admins for the page to take over management
And voila! Once confirmed, you will be able to view the page as a regular user but will not have the same backend permissions and administrative roles to follow.
We hope this helps!
