From community celebrations to private invite-only parties, the Facebook Events feature is a quick and easy way to let others know about an event that you are hosting or a part of.

The public or invite-only setting makes it easy to control visibility and keep an eye on the guest list, while the RSVP tool and event wall allows invitees to register their interest and let the hosts know whether they plan on attending or not.

Of course, once you add managing the Facebook event page to organising the actual event, and all the tasks associated with that, you might find yourself feeling overwhelmed with work that needs doing.

Which is where this article comes in.

If you are the host of an upcoming event and want to add a co-host or two to the event page, so as to give them control over the details and full visibility of the guest list, then look no further – as we share the quick and easy process of adding a host to your Facebook event and sharing the load between two (or more!)

3 Steps to Add a Host to a New Facebook Event

  1. From your Facebook menu, click on the Events content block and then tap the plus sign icon along the top of the screen to create a new event
  2. Insert all the details about your event, then select the ‘Add Co-Hosts’ button and search for your friends
  3. You can then choose to add them as co-hosts, before confirming the event and getting started on the invite list!

This process is a quick and easy way to add co-hosts during the event creation process.

But what about adding co-hosts to an existing event that has already been published?

How to Add Co-hosts to an Existing Event

In order to add co-hosts to an event that is already live on Facebook, you need to first find the event via the Events content block and then the calendar icon – or by searching directly for your event in your Facebook search bar.

Once in your event, tap the ‘Manage’ button under the cover photo, and then select ‘Edit’.

An ‘Add Co-Hosts’ button will appear in the Editing menu, allowing you to follow the steps above in searching for your co-host friends and sending them the invite to share the load.

Co-hosts must accept the invitation to become co-hosts before they are responsible for any control of the Facebook event page. It’s also worth noting that you can have multiple hosts on a single event – so don’t feel like you have to restrict your invites!

We hope this helps! The Facebook Events feature is a great way to not only centralise the information relating to an upcoming event but also to track RSVPs and the guest list. And sharing the load between multiple hosts is undoubtedly the best way to ensure that nobody gets bogged down in too much admin.
