Facebook Groups are a leading feature of the social platform, aiding in both the establishment and growth of online communities.

When you join a group, whether it’s connected to your local area or geared towards an interest or hobby that you are involved in, you gain access to a pool of likeminded users and can contribute with your own posts, with comments, through accessing unique and exclusive content, and more.

And with Facebook groups able to be made public or private at the click of a button, group admin and owners can control the visibility and spread of their online community with ease.

With that in mind, the first question that many users have is where they should start when looking for new groups to join.

How to Discover New Groups

In order to access the groups that you already a part of, see which groups Facebook recommends for you to join, and to discover new and exciting groups that you might not have considered, you need to head into your Facebook menu and then select the ‘Groups’ button from the content blocks.

Once you’re in ‘Groups’, you will see a selection of tabs along the top of the page. These include ‘For You’, ‘Manage’, ‘Your Groups’, and ‘Discover’.

The ‘For You’ groups tab provides information that you might have missed, in groups that you are already a part of – similar to a groups-related notification menu. The ‘Manage’ tab is dedicated to groups that you are a manager for, while ‘Your Groups’ also lists the ones that you manage, as well as all the existing groups that you are a part of already. ‘Discover’ is an open suggestions list of groups that you might be interested in, based on what you are already a part of and the content that you actively engage in.

To discover new groups, you should head specifically for ‘For You’ and ‘Discover’.

We hope this helps! Facebook Groups are a great way of unlocking new communities that you can immerse yourself in and be a part of, whether related to work, your local area, interests, or other parts of your life.
