Have you got a Facebook friend who you don’t want to unfriend, but who you don’t want viewing and interacting with some of your posts?
Then you’ve come to the right place – and the right article.
Here’s how to hide posts from specific individual before sharing.
5 Steps to Hide a Post From a Facebook Friend
- Create your post as normal, adding your caption and any images or location tags to the post
- Underneath your name at the top of the post, select the blue dropdown button labelled ‘Friends’. This is the audience button and will help you to determine and finetune exactly who can see and interact with your post
- Select the option labelled ‘Friends Except…’
- Search for the friend who you want to hide your post from, and make sure that their name is selected via the checkbox on the right hand side of the screen
- Confirm by selecting ‘Done’ at the bottom of the ‘Post Audience’ screen
You can now share your post, safe in the knowledge that it will be hidden from the user who you searched for and selected.
This is a great tool for those occasions when you want to share something with your friends but without specific individuals seeing it – or when you want to limit friends’ access to your posts, but don’t want to offend them by removing them as a friend.
We hope that this advice helps you to personalise your Facebook feed and posting experience.
