Are you fed up with your Facebook feed being filled with suggested posts and ads?
The Facebook algorithm means that content is often balanced with posts from friends, advertisements, suggested posts, and posts from groups and pages that you interact with on a regular basis.
But this can be annoying, especially when it means that you miss posts and updates that are shared by your Facebook friends.
That’s why we’ve created this guide, with tips on how to see more of your friends posts and ensure that you don’t miss an update!
Engage With Posts From Friends
Facebook monitors activity and strives to prioritise the content that you engage with most frequently.
The more you like and comment on friends posts, the more of those posts will appear in your newsfeed.
Hide Unwanted Posts
If there are groups and pages that share an excess of posts, or you want to limit the ads that you see from certain companies, the best thing to do is to select ‘Hide Post’ or ‘See Less of This’ in the post options.
While it is not possible to completely block ads and suggested posts, taking steps to hide posts you don’t like or want to see will help to ensure that your Facebook browsing experience is as up to date as possible.
Views Your Friends Feed
Finally, did you know that there is a feature of Facebook that filters your feed into different categories?
Clicking on the menu button in the bottom right hand corner of your app screen, then selecting ‘Feeds’ from the menu will bring up a collection of different newsfeeds. Select ‘Friends’ to see a feed which is exclusively compiled of posts shared by the Facebook users that you are friends with.
So, there you have it. Three different ways of personalising your Facebook experience so that you have more control over the kinds of posts that you see on the app. We hope this helps!
