LED lights are used to light up the backdrop or are added as filters later in the editing process to add a colourful hue to the content.
While these added colours are undeniably attractive to look at, what many users don’t realise is that each colour has a very clear meaning and underlying emotion that it’s tied to.
Red as an Emotive Colour on TikTok
Red signifies passion and love and is often employed as the LED coloured backdrop for a video which is centred around love or the creator’s own passion.
Perhaps the most interesting thing about red specifically is that it holds both positive and negative connotations. As well as passion and love, it can also be used to denote anger or rage – meaning that the content and the way you use the colour is important when setting the scene with LED lights.
The intensity of the colour is also important. A bright and bold red is significantly more powerful than a muted red tone – adding another layer that needs to be considered before you infuse your content with red lighting.
