When you pin a post, it remains at the top of your Facebook feed regardless on when it was first posted or how many posts come after it.

While typically a post is pushed further down the page as new posts are added, pinning a post means that it stays at the top – making it the first post that a user will see when they first arrive on your profile page.

In this article, we’re sharing a quick guide on how to pin a post – but first, which posts should you be pinning?

Knowing Which Posts to Pin to Your Profile

If you run a business account, then you might choose to pin a post which introduces your mission, outlines your opening times, or makes an important announcement.

If you are managing your own personal page, you might decide to pin a milestone announcement such as an engagement or a photo of a new baby – making it easy to ensure that this is the first thing any visitor will see when they open your page.

NOTE: When you pin a post, it stays at the top of your profile or at the top of your Page in the ‘Featured’ section until it is removed.

3 Steps to Pin a Post on Facebook

  1. Click on the menu button in the bottom right hand corner of the screen and navigate to your profile page
  2. Find the post that you want to pin, by scrolling down your profile page
  3. Tap on the three dots in the top right hand corner of the post that you want to pin, and select ‘Pin Post’ at the top of the pop up menu

As soon as you select this, your post will sit at the top of your profile feed until you decide to remove the pin. To remove a pin, follow the same steps – clicking on ‘Unpin Post’ from the pop up menu.

And there you have it! A quick and easy process that allows you to pin a post and keep it at the top of your profile for as long as you want.
