A Facebook story is a quick nugget of video content which you can film and upload direct to the platform, with the content available for 24 hours before it disappears from public view.

There are plenty of different ways to use a Facebook story to boost your profile and to encourage engagement – with various add-ons available to add context to your story.

In this article, we’re sharing a quick guide on how best to add a link to your Facebook story.

What Can You Add to a Facebook Story?

When you upload a video or photo to your Facebook story, you will be shown a series of icons that references different things you can add to your story before it goes live on the platform.

These include text boxes and special effects, music, and several other on-screen add-ons that all fall under the label titled ‘Stickers’.

Some of the accessible add-ons listed under ‘Stickers’ include tagging other users or pages, adding the time, a location, a donation button, poll, question, or feeling.

So, how do you add a link?

The text box option allows you to add a layer of text over the top of your video or image – adding a caption, context, or something else to your story.

Copying and pasting a link into this text box can help to show users where they need to head in their browser. However, these links are not clickable and will appear just like any other block of text.

Option 2: Tag a Page or Business

If the website or business that you want to link to has a Facebook page, then the best thing to do is use the ‘@Tag’ button to tag that page.

By driving traffic to the Facebook page, you can help users to continue their journey – in the hopes that they will navigate to your link via the Facebook page rather than directly in your story.

Either way, using Facebook stories as part of your content strategy is a good way to interest and engage users and followers – introducing them to behind the scenes content and making your content and business more relatable. We hope this advice helps!
