Sometimes, when a user sends you a Facebook message without being your friend on the platform already, their message is dropped into your Message Requests folder.
Message Requests is a separate folder within your Messenger app, that contains message that have been held back from your main inbox. All messages that are sent to your Requests folder will need to be approved by you before they appear in your inbox.
NOTE: The sender will only know that you have opened the message, if you approve it and choose to move it into your inbox. If you decline the message, then they will never know that you opened it.
With that in mind them, how do you find and view your Message Requests on Facebook?
3 Steps to View All Facebook Message Requests
- Open your Messenger app on your device
- Click on the icon in the top left hand corner of the screen, that depicts three blue horizontal lines
- In the menu that appears, click on ‘Message Requests’
This will open a new inbox of messages that haven’t yet been approved or declined. These are further separated into two filters, one showing messages from people who you may know, while the other filter is for suspected spam.
We hope this helps! Keeping on top of your Message Requests is a good way to ensure you don’t miss any important notices, and can keep your inbox well organised.
