Your Facebook archive is a collection of posts that you remove from public and friends’ view, but that you can still view yourself.
Every Facebook user has an archive within their account which lets them move content away from their profile feed, without deleting it. Content that has been archived can then be restored to full view if and when you want it to be seen and viewed.
In this article, we’re not only showing you how to find your archive but also letting you know how to add content to the archive for safe storage.
Finding Your Archived Content
- Click on the menu button in the bottom right hand corner of the screen
- Navigate to your profile page and then click on the button with the three dots, just underneath your profile picture
- Click on ‘Archive’ in the menu
This will open a menu that features any archived posts, an option to open your archived Facebook stories, and access to the recycling bin of items and posts that you have deleted.
Any items in the archive can be restored to full visibility on your profile, by selecting it and then clicking on ‘Restore’. Items in your recycling bin will be deleted permanently after 30 days.
How to Archive a Post
You can only archive your own posts. You are unable to adjust or edit the visibility of a post shared by another user.
To archive one of your posts, click on the three dots in the top right hand corner of the post and select ‘Move to Archive’ from the pop up menu.
It’s as quick and easy as that!
