The home of video content, Youtube is unarguably the first port of call for any online user looking for a video guide, music video, or any other type of video.
And more often than not, a compelling and well made video will be deemed worthy of sharing by its viewers – with Facebook just one of the primary platforms on which users can share and promote Youtube videos that they enjoy.
There are two main ways of sharing Youtube videos on Facebook, both available via a quick and easy process. Let us know which is your preferred method…
Option 1: via the YouTube App
The first option available to video viewers and users is to use the ‘Share’ button linked on the video’s page in the Youtube app.
With your chosen video open on the screen, click on ‘Share’ which you will find underneath the name of the video and name of the poster / creator.
A pop up menu will appear, inviting you to share the video via a selection of top communication platforms – including Facebook in prime position at the start of the share carousel. Click on the Facebook icon then approve Youtube opening your Facebook app.
The link to your chosen video will be copied into a new status or post update, which you can personalise and tailor with added text, emojis, and other post features before sharing.
Option 2: via the Facebook App
If you want to share a Youtube video to Facebook without using the automated Share button, you can follow much the same process as above but simply copying and pasting the link yourself.
To access this button, again select the ‘Share’ option underneath the video title and then tap on the ‘Copy Link’ option. This essentially saves the link to your chosen video onto your device clipboard – making it easy to paste the link into multiple places without constantly referring back to the video page.
So, if you want to copy the link and share it on Facebook as well as to various friends on WhatsApp and other social platforms, copying the link is the quickest solution.
Regardless of which option you choose, most videos will pull a preview over from Youtube which automatically adds a visual aspect to your link post. You can remove this by selecting the ‘X’ icon in the top right hand corner or keep it for easy access to the video content.
Happy posting!
