How to Rate a Seller on Facebook
Once you’ve purchased something via Facebook Marketplace, you should consider leaving a seller review – both to let them know that you are happy with the purchase, and to support other prospective buyers who may be wondering if they are trustworthy for future sales.
In order to be able to leave a review on Marketplace against a seller, the purchase needs to be confirmed via Facebook. With so many transactions taking place in person following a discussion on Marketplace Messenger to determine a meeting location, the sale does not always go this far online and so the option is not always available.
If it is, however, it should be clearly outlined in the Mesenger conversation stream upon completion.
As a buyer, you can leave a rating between one and five stars, ideally sharing details about your experience so as to help the seller establish a good reputation (or to warn other buyers if necessary!)
The more you do this, the more you will help Facebook to recognise potential issues with the Marketplace model, and the better informed future buyers will be when dealing with specific sellers.
Happy shopping!
