There are plenty of benefits to keeping in touch with old and new friends on Facebook. One of them is never forgetting a birthday – with Facebook a great app for reminding you about friends’ birthdays, and letting you check when someone’s birthday is.
But how and where do you find those birthdays?
Birthday Notifications
If you let it, then Facebook will send you an in-app notification when it’s the birthday of a friend.
Tapping on this notification will not only let you send a quick message to post on their profile wall but will also let you know about other birthdays in your friends list. These include recent birthdays that have already gone, and upcoming birthdays for the rest of the month.
This is a quick and easy way to check up on birthdays as and when the app reminds you. But is there a way of checking in on Facebook birthdays without seeing the notification first?
Seeking Out Upcoming Birthdays
While the website version of Facebook has a ‘Birthdays’ tab inside the Events menu of your Facebook experience, the mobile app no longer offers a quick button that takes you to this list of recent and upcoming birthday.
Having said that, there is a hack that you can access to find birthdays without a notification to guide you.
Simply tap on the magnifying glass ‘Search’ icon on your Facebook home screen, and type ‘Birthdays’ into the search bar. Click on the top result, that should read ‘Birthdays’ alongside a cake icon, and you will see the same list of friends’ birthdays appear.
Using this, you can be sure to never miss a birthday again!
