Facebook is not purely about who you are friends with and who you aren’t. In fact, there are lots of other levels of engagement and interaction which impact how often you see different users in your feed – including whether you follow someone, whether you have hidden their content, or if you choose to snooze their content for the 30 day period.

Hiding someone comes in different forms. You can either hide them from your feed by snoozing their content for 30 days, or you can manually hide their posts and let Facebook know that you want to see less from them. Either way, these options mean that you are still friends with them – your feed is simply stripped of their posts and updates.

With that said then, how do you reverse these actions and reinstate the user to your feed?

How to Unsnooze a Friend on Facebook

When you snooze a friend on Facebook, you turn their content off from your feed for a period of 30 days. This is a particularly good option if someone has annoyed you, or is posting excessively about something in particular, and you want to remove those updates from your feed until they stop posting.

Snoozing a user is as simple as heading to their profile and completing the action or choosing to snooze them from a single post on your feed.

Either way, to reverse and un-snooze them, you can either wait for the 30 days to finish or follow these steps:

  1. Click on the menu button in the bottom right hand corner of your screen
  2. Select ‘Content Preferences’
  3. Select ‘Snooze’ from the list of options
  4. Next to any friends who you have set to snooze, click on the grey ‘End Snooze’ button

Within this menu, you can also reset a snooze and snooze other users, making this a useful page and setting to know about!

What Happens When You Hide a Post?

When you hide a post that has been shared by a user in your feed, you have the option to hide that individual post or unfollow the user so that their posts are removed from your feed, but you remain friends.

Which option you choose will depend on whether it is the post you don’t like, or the user who posted it.

You can reverse an unfollow action with ease from inside your Facebook settings and can navigate to hidden posts within your activity log.

To find and re-follow a user who you have chosen to hide from your feed, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the menu button in the bottom right hand corner of your screen
  2. Select ‘Content Preferences’
  3. Select ‘Reconnect’ from the list of options

Within the Reconnect screen, you will see all the users who you have unfollowed and will be able to follow them again – making them and their content a part of your feed.

We hope this helps. With so many options for both engaging with and hiding content from different groups, pages, and users, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed by the layers of Facebook and what they all mean.
