With community such a major part of the Facebook experience for its millions of users, groups remain one of the most popular and well-used features on the platform.

From local groups to groups underpinned by a common interest, groups formed around hobbies, and groups that celebrate specific ideologies or beliefs, there really is a Facebook group for everything – with users able to join and engage with as many groups as they like.

One of the ways that users can engage with their favourite groups is by posting in them. Which leads us to the main question of this article: can you post to multiple groups, and how do you do it?

How to Post in a Group

To share a post in a group, most users will search for that group specifically and then type and share their update.

However, there is a shortcut.

Clicking on the menu button in the bottom right hand corner of your Facebook screen will open the main platform menu. Select the ‘Groups’ content block from the menu screen, and then click on the plus sign icon along the top of your screen. Tap ‘Create Post’ and then choose the group that you want to share your post to.

The beauty of this shortcut is that this lists all the groups you are a part of, in one place. No more searching and trying to remember the names of your favourite groups – by following these steps, you can quickly and easily browse the different groups you’re a part of.

Can You Select More Than One Group?

Via the method outlined above, you can only select and post in one group at a time.

Having said that, there are ways of sharing a post to more than one group that you are a part of. It all depends on how you choose to post.

Here are your options for sharing a post to more than one group…

  1. The first option is to copy the post and paste it into multiple groups, one at a time. This is manual, but it shares the post at the right time and allows you to make edits and adjustments should you need to for the different group audiences
  2. Option two is to use a Facebook scheduling tool which lets you replicate the post into multiple groups. Not only does this remove the manual process outline above, but it also lets you schedule the post for an optimal time – ideal for those who are time poor

Depending on the update that you want to share, there are hacks and ways of posting in multiple groups more quickly than having to retype the post over and over again. The benefit of both options mentioned above is that you can save time and still be able to adjust the post for each group audience.

We hope this helps!
