Facebook Stories are much the same as Instagram Stories – in fact, the direct link between the two Meta-owned accounts means that stories can often be shared to both apps with a single click.
What this means is that the concept and basis upon which stories are uploaded is also the same. Facebook stories remain active for up to 24 hours and can only then be accessed by you as the original poster, via your story archive.
In this article, we’re uncovering the benefits of this archive in finding and viewing old stories – so that you never lose a memory, no matter how small.
3 Steps to Find Your Story Archive
- Navigate to your profile page on Facebook then select the button with the three dots, located underneath your profile picture
- Select ‘Archive’ then ‘Story Archive’ from the button at the top of the page
- A grid will appear which shows all of your old Stories. You can tap on each of these to open them in full screen mode – viewing and even resharing where necessary
How to Ensure All Stories Are Saved to the Archive
The archive is a feature that you can activate to save stories automatically. If you don’t have this feature activated for automatic saving, you can manually archive a story to ensure that you don’t lose it.
To turn the archive on and off, the process is much the same as that outlined above. Simply head to your profile page and tap on the three dots underneath your profile picture. Select ‘Archive’ from the menu that appears and then ‘Story Archive’. The toggle at the bottom of the screen will let you know if your archive is on or off – enabling a quick and easy change.
We hope this helps! Remember, archived stories can be accessed at any time and are only visible to you as the original poster!
