Adding a location to a Facebook post is a great way to make your post more engaging, as well as supporting the business or attraction that you visited.

Whether it’s a specific location or more of a destination country or city, other users can click through to visit the Facebook page for that location and find out more about, indirectly adding context to your post and making your content even more interesting for friends and/or followers.

So, how do you add a location to your next Facebook post?

3 Steps to Add a Location to Your Facebook Post

  1. From your Facebook homepage or profile page, click on the ‘What’s On Your Mind’ status update box at the top of the page
  2. Underneath the text box, click on ‘Check In’
  3. Use the search bar to search for a specific location that you want to tag, or click on the arrow icon in the top right hand corner of the screen to help Facebook recognise your current location

Once you’ve selected your location, you can create the post as normal – adding text, uploading images, and including any other tags that add even more context to your post.

Your post will then be shared with the location tag at the end of the post heading, with your friends and followers able to click on the location and visit its dedicated page.

We hope this helps and inspires you to make your posts even more engaging and interactive by adding location tags!
