Adding any kind of video clip or footage to a TikTok post means using the comprehensive editing tools – starting with the upload process.

A TikTok video can be filmed in the app and uploaded directly or compiled of several clips that you already have saved on your phone – taking care to follow copyright regulations when using content that was filmed by or belongs to others.

Here are the 5 stages of adding several clips to a TikTok post.

5 Steps to Add Clips to a TikTok Post

  1. On the TikTok home screen, tap on the white box with the large plus sign, in the bottom centre position of your screen
  2. Next to the large white circular button, select ‘Upload’
  3. Along the top of the screen, select ‘Videos’
  4. This will open a grid of all the videos recently taken and uploaded to your device. Tap in the top right hand corner of all the clips that you want to add to your TikTok post, taking care to select them in the order that you want them to appear
  5. Select ‘Next’ at the bottom of the screen

Once you’ve selected all the videos that you want to upload, you can view them as a full compilation and then edit them accordingly.

Select ‘Edit’ from the top of the icons menu to the right hand side of the screen, which will take you to a full editing suite. Here you can add sound and voiceovers, alter the transition from one video to the next, and add other effects and overlays.

Once you’re ready to upload your TikTok, simply select ‘Next’ again, add a caption and any relevant tags, and your content is ready to share across the platform!

We hope this helps – happy creating!
