The best ways of interacting with a page on Facebook include liking a page, engaging with the content posted by a page, and following a page.

When you choose to like a page, Facebook automatically adds you to the list of followers too.

This essentially means that you will see posts shared by that page as they are posted, with updates integrated into your feed alongside content from friends and other users.

But did you know that there is a way of unfollowing a page and removing the content from your feed, while still showing your support with a like?

Here’s how to unfollow a page…

3 Steps to Unfollow a Facebook Page

  1. The first step is to navigate to the Facebook page that you want to unfollow. You can do this by either clicking through to the page direct from a post in your feed, or by visiting your menu and then selecting ‘Pages’, ‘Liked Pages’ and then finding it in this list
  2. Once you’re on the page, click on the button with the three dots just underneath the cover photo
  3. Click on the option in the menu that’s marked ‘Following’

This will open a pop up menu that invites you to continue with the Default follow setting, add the page to your favourites so that updates appear higher in your feed, or to Unfollow the page completely.

Selecting the ‘Unfollow’ option will essentially keep hold of your like and will therefore boost the page’s visibility on Facebook but will remove the updates from your news feed.

TOP TIP: This is a great process to follow if you want to show support for a friend’s page or a local business but aren’t directly interested in the posts that they share and the products or services that they advertise.

We hope this helps and proves that you don’t have to remove your like from a page to remove it from your news feed.
