The ‘Poke’ function on Facebook used to be something that formed a major part of every user’s experience. The button to poke another user was clear and would appear on their profile as a deliberate activity to get attention.
Now, the poke function is hidden behind a few layers on Facebook – though the action is still available!
To find it, follow these instructions…
5 Steps to Poke a Friend on Facebook
- Click on the menu button in the bottom right hand corner of your Facebook feed
- Click on the magnifying glass icon in the top right hand corner, and search ‘Pokes on Facebook’
- Select the top option, titled ‘Pokes’ with a blue poke icon next to it
- A new screen will appear, letting you know which users have poked you and inviting you to poke others
- You can choose one of the many users listed under ‘Suggested Pokes’, or search for a specific user in the search bar
Clicking on the blue poke button will send them a notification that you have poked them on Facebook. While your reason for sending the poke may vary, the notification and user experience is always the same.
